They're wrong. And they're wrong for mathematical reasons, not just vibes.

What Could Actually Happen
I'm not saying nothing bad can happen. I'm saying winter can't happen. Here's what could:
Consolidation: Too many AI companies, not all survive. Many will fail. But failure of individual companies isn't winter—it's normal market dynamics.
Slower progress: Diminishing returns from scaling. Each generation improves less than the previous. This isn't winter—it's maturity.
Correction: Stock prices dropping. Expectations resetting. This isn't winter—it's markets being markets.
Plateau: Capabilities stabilizing at current levels for a period. This isn't winter—it's consolidation before the next breakthrough.
None of these constitute winter. Winter means regression, abandonment, and the field going dormant. That's not mathematically possible given current dynamics.
The Real Risk
